We offer the following Spanish Language Courses:

• General Spanish (Age Specific and level offerings)
• General Spanish Conversation (Age Specific and level offerings)
• Spanish for Professionals (Primarily for professionally trained Adults)
• After School Spanish (Primarily for Elementarly age children)
• Homeschooled Spanish

General Spanish Conversation:

These classes are for any age group but adult classes and children classes are separate.

• Beginning Spanish I (No Prerequisite)
• Beginning Spanish II  (Prerequisite – Beginning  Spanish I)
• Intermediate Spanish I (Prerequisite – Beginning  Spanish II)
• Intermediate ​Spanish II (Prerequisite – Intermediate  Spanish I)
• Advanced Spanish (Prerequisite – Intermediate Spanish II)
• Additional Advanced Spanish training is available upon request. This option should be discussed with Arcea Zapata de Aston. She will design a class that meets your individual needs.

Spanish for Professionals:

(Adult) These classes are designed between the survival Spanish and the vocabulary needed for people involved in the professional settings in the medical, legal, law enforcement, business, social work, and education fields.  Practice and acquisition of the vocabulary, grammar, and basic listening and conversational abilities needed in these fields are emphasized. Students will learn to establish a connection with Latino clients, customers, and patients by using the Spanish language skills and understanding some of the Latino culture’s traditions, values, and practices. These classes are also highly recommended for organizations, agencies, and leaders dealing with the Latino community.

After School Spanish:

(K-8) Students will learn the basics concepts of the Spanish language while having fun. Students are exposed to authentic materials through video and audio sources.

Homeschooled Spanish:

(K-12) These classes expose homeschooled students to and develop skills of reading, listening, and speaking the Spanish language. There will be some emphasis on grammatical structures if needed. Classes are divided into 4 levels by grade.

Spanish Tutoring:

Offered for students of all ages and levels.Tutoring is usually for indivuals. but can be taught to small groups if all students are are in the same class.

Spanish for Heritage Speakers :

(K-12) Spanish for Heritage Speakers This class is for a unique and growing student population of K-12, of Latino descendent who has been exposed to the Spanish language either at home with their family or in some other way. This Spanish class emphasizes culture and language immersion. This class is tailored to the student's specific needs and facilitates the student's language development through a better understanding of their language learning strategies. It includes literacy, oral Spanish proficiency; discuss day-to-day topics related to home and community, as well as culture of the Spanish speaking countries and Latinos in the US, the mechanics of Spanish writing; such as spelling, syntax, and use of accents among others.

* Clases de español y cultura para hispanohablantes ¡Déle a sus hijos el privilegio de aprender su lengua materna! El español es una de las lenguas más habladas en el mundo en la actualidad. La mayoría de las escuelas, universidades y hasta negocios animan a sus estudiantes, trabajadores y profesionales a aprender esta lengua. Usted la tiene al alcance de su mano. Es su lengua materna! ¿Por qué perderla? Ofrézcale a sus hijos el privilegio de hablar dos lenguas y ser bilingüe en los Estados Unidos. Estas clases de español se enfocan en la cultura de los países hispano hablantes, la gramática del español, la lectura y la escritura. Los estudiantes desarrollan las destrezas en las áreas de vocabulario, lectura, comprensión oral y conversación en un ambiente de inmersión. El método de inmersión crea un ambiente en el cual los estudiantes aprenden a hablar la lengua de la misma manera en que se aprende la lengua materna. Profesores con licenciatura en filología, literatura y cultura le garantizan una instrucción de alta calidad.

The following description applies to all Spanish classes in general. These courses emphasize culture and language immersion. The students develop language skills in the areas of vocabulary, reading, listening, and speaking necessary to converse in Spanish. The immersion method creates an environment in which the students learn to speak the target language in the same way they learn to acquire their native tongue. The students develop skills in Spanish through the use of illustrations, songs, videos, cultural information, games, and continuous use of group dialogues and other linguistic activities that promote acquisition. All methods and activates are modified to maintain age appropriate content/level. We can begin your Spanish education and take you through to a post-secondary level.

• Adult Spanish Conversation (Adult) The Spanish instruction emphasizes in communicative competence and it thrives to increase awareness of respect for cultural diversity. Classes are also designed to develop and enhance competence in the four skills areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We also help students with grammatical structures as needed. Grammar is mainly taught in context and it is used to communicate in the classroom. Students are also encouraged to speak the Spanish language and engage on genuine conversations in class while building skills in the language.
• Spanish for Professionals (aka- Spanish in the Workplace) (Adults) - These classes are designed between the survival Spanish and the vocabulary needed for people involved in the professional settings in the medical, legal, law enforcement, business, social work, and education fields.  Practice and acquisition of the vocabulary, grammar, and basic listening and conversational abilities needed in these fields are emphasized. • Spanish for Toddlers (Pre-K to K, 3-5 Y Old, Mommy and Me) - These classes introduce the child to basic concepts including common greetings, personal information about themselves, colors, numbers, the alphabet, commands, and short sentence structure.Homeschooled Spanish Language (K-12) - These classes expose homeschooled students to and develop the skills of reading, listening, and speaking the Spanish language. There will be some emphasis on grammatical structures if needed. Classes are divided into 4 levels by grade.
